Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist

MidAmerica National Bank, a locally owned financial institution in central Illinois, has an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Mortgage Loan department as a full-time Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist. We are currently accepting applications/resumes for a Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist to be responsible for servicing real estate mortgage loans by maintaining accurate escrow accounts (tax, homeowner's insurance, and mortgage insurance).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate escrow accounts for real estate taxes, insurance, and mortgage insurance. Disburse funds in accordance with terms of billing and update systems to maintain accurate information.
• Monitor files for current real estate tax bill. Contact customers, County Offices, or taxing service to obtain missing bills. Initiate appropriate action to avoid tax liens.
• Initiate and review escrow analysis date prior to being sent to customer in accordance with regulatory requirement timeframe. Review overages and shortages for accuracy.
• Monitor Mortgage insurance and recommend cancellation in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Respond to in-person, telephone and written inquires to provide information to customers on mortgage loan servicing topics to include tax, mortgage, and homeowner's insurance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school graduate or General Education Degree: required Associates Degree (two-year college or technical school) Preferred. Field of study: business, finance, or related field
• 1-2 years of experience in banking/finance. Mortgage experience preferred. Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Proficiency with common windows-based office software. (Examples: Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe)
• Detail oriented, analytical skills, accuracy, and having initiative.
